American Legend returned in 2020 - drive-in style!
This trail-blazing and spirited tribute to the life of an American icon debuted 2016 in Folsom as a benefit concert for the City of Folsom's Johnny Cash Art Trail. Back by popular demand, American Legend will take you on a musical journey with songs from original country artists that influenced Cash's writings and sound, including the Carter Family. Experience the Sun Records hits of the 50s and 60s, such as "I Walk the Line" and "Get Rhythm," along with Cash's last ground-breaking songs with American Recordings. Multi-talented artists will take the stage to share the Man in Black's unique story through music and movement.
The 2018 American Legend concerts showcased the stylings of Johnny Cash's only ever drummer -WS Holland! The artists of SMTP were honored to share the stage with the legendary drummer with over 6 decades of music, drumming for Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, the Million Dollar Quartet, and many others!
